blue skies

If you live in Los Angeles, you know what I am talking about when I say that the sky is heavy today.  Brush fires are raging about 10 miles east of the Rock Scissor Paper studio and for several days now the sky has been obliterated by smoke and ash, making it difficult to discern what time of day it is.  I’m here at the studio working this weekend, and while I am trying to focus on the paperwork I need to do, I keep finding my mind wandering to thoughts of brilliant blue skies; the kind of clear days where you can be in the hills above Hollywood and see all the way to the ocean.  On those days, I can’t help but feel like anything is possible.  Los Angeles is a vast, sprawling city and when you see its expanse framed against the deepest cerulean of skies, the impossible seems within reach. For those near the fire, whose homes might be in danger and for those who might just be having a tough day personally. these blue skies are for you.

These blue skies can be found on Etsy.
Wouldn’t one of these, framed on your wall, brighten your day?

Top row:  “Drift” by honeytree, “You’re My Blue Sky” by melissakate
Middle row:  “Birch Forest” by tamaragarvey, “Happy Moment” by shirae
Bottom row: “The Great Escape” by atwhim, “Here Comes the Sun” by evesimone

And a tune, Mr. Blue Sky by The Delgados, that I can’t stop singing today.
