summer’s last long weekend

I know it’s only Tuesday, but I’m already thinking about this weekend. I’m looking forward to 3 long days of relaxation and fun with friends. Summer is almost over and I haven’t spent nearly as much time outdoors as I had hoped. A cocktail on the patio is definitely in my plans for this weekend. Why don’t you join me? Mix up a refreshing, fruity cocktail, sit outside, and enjoy summer’s last long weekend.

Late Summer Peach Sangria
-2 bottles white zinfandel wine
-1 tablespoon sugar
-1/4 cup Grand Marnier liqueur
-1/2 cup peach schnapps
-1 lemon, sliced
-1 orange, sliced
-1 peach, sliced
-2 cinnamon sticks. broken in half
-10 ounces club soda
-ice cubes

In a large pitcher, combine white zinfandel, sugar, Grand Marnier, peach schnapps, sliced fruits and cinnamon sticks. Stir to combine ingredients. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. Just before serving, add club soda. Fill large wine glasses or goblets with ice. Pour sangria over ice.
Makes 6 servings.

Thanks all! I’ve never met a Sangria I didn’t like! This one is particularly good for lazy Sunday brunches. I’m still trying to recreate one that I had in New York once that was a white wine Sangria infused with lemongrass. Just can’t get it right! I’ll keep drinking, I mean experimenting! ;)
