Here in Los Angeles, we are having a rare full week of rain (that’s what they predict anyhow). Four consecutive storms have made the skies very gray, the streets wet and have left some of us natives thrilled with this unusual occurrence. Don’t get me wrong, it does rain here, (and it really comes down when it does) but we rarely get an entire week of rain. Pulling out my umbrella and trench today made me think of elementary school and the rubber boots we had to walk to school in. It’s funny now to think that for the 12 or so days, where rain and school coincided, that we actually had special boots! Recess play was canceled and we spent the time in our classroom instead playing Heads-up Seven-up and Hangman. Lots of fun!
