That’s my lemon tree, brimming with juicy, ripe lemons. The tree is so laden with fruit right now that its branches are bent low from the weight. Not only are there lemons galore, but this year, the fruit is perfect. So wonderfully juicy and brightly flavored. So as the saying goes “When life gives you [...]

Last week, we posted about a party we threw for a friend and in it, mentioned the cocktail we created for it. We think it would be a great cocktail to celebrate Mother’s Day with. Having a brunch to celebrate Mom? This is the perfect thing to serve! It’s simple, elegant and, with the added [...]

Spring officially started on Saturday, but here in Los Angeles, it started a little early. The last week or so has been gorgeous; all we want to do is be outside. This past Friday, we decided to get out of the studio for a while and go on a picnic. Sometimes you just need to [...]

Yesterday’s post on lemon yellow has me thinking about all things lemony! Though I normally associate lemonade with summertime, the truth is lemons, and other citrus fruits, are in abundance this time of year. The lemon tree in my backyard is bursting with fruit and making lemonade is a great way to use [...]

There are two things that I know will put a guaranteed smile on my boyfriend’s face: pancakes and pie. Any kind of pancakes, any kind of pie, anytime of the day. How yummy would it be to combine the two and serve your guy (or gal!) breakfast in bed? I created [...]

I’ve started to receive invitations to Super Bowl parties in anticipation of the big game in the beginning of February. While these gatherings are a lot of fun, I have to admit that I’m not a fan of football. This got me thinking that I actually know a lot of people who aren’t [...]

Mmmmmmm….hot chocolate! What can I say? I’ve never met a hot chocolate I didn’t like. Even though I live in Los Angeles, where winter means 70 degrees with sunny, blue skies, the nights get quite cold. And there is nothing I like more on a chilly evening than a cup of hot chocolate.

When I entertain, I love to serve a special cocktail to get the evening going. I think it instantly puts people in a festive mood and often gives people who don’t know each other something to talk about and break the ice.
During the holidays, I get a little cocktail [...]

As some of you may know, the cake vs. pie debate is a constant one for me. But if you want to know a little secret, I actually think that cookie trumps both. I’ve rarely met a cookie I didn’t like. Biscotti is one of my favorites and also an easy cookie to [...]
